Cyclone Pro Day

March 22nd, 2022

I was able to cover our 2021 football teams Pro Day and oh boy was it something. We, the media, were restricted to one side of the indoor football facility, all whilst behind roped stanchions. With the area restrictions, many of the photos were very far away and kind of ‘look the same’. I totally understand why athletics does this; safety of the athletes comes above all else. But some part of me just wishes I could have the unheard of ‘all access pass’. The shots I could get with that. Sheesh. One day.

Anyways, the event was longer than expected. Media started at 8AM and it went until about 1PM. I definitely should have eaten more for breakfast than a granola bar. I feel like sports photography should be considered a sport sometimes.

No offense to the designers of the building, but the indoor facilities lighting was atrocious. I had to boost my ISO to the extreme, which is a photographers nightmare. Many of the workout photos came out extremely grainy, but look at those interview shots. *chefs kiss*. I don’t know what it is, but something about interviews make for amazing photos
